My dog loves to sleep on top of my sneakers or under my bed. The low-roofed structure of the integrated den gives him a sense of comfort and security.

Context

For my best friend.

The goal of this project was to design and fabricate a shoe-shelf bench with an integrated space for my best friend to rest.

Doghaus — geometry and joinery

Making

Plywood, glue, and patience.

The piece was built from plywood, wood glue, and brad nails — a den-low roof on one side, open shoe storage on the other, balanced on a single bench profile.

Stacked plywood profiles on the bench, mid-fabrication.

Result

Two functions, one quiet object.

Shoes go where they belong; the dog gets a den at floor level. A single piece of furniture that earns its footprint twice over.
